The Challenge

Procure4’s Fat Face Ltd. is a high street fashion retailer with over 190 stores within the UK with turnover in excess of £150m.

Fat Face had a steady growth program within the UK and Procure4 was engaged to complete a review of their supply chain. This review was created to ensure that the optimum structure was in place to meet the current and future requirements of bought in goods and services (not for resale).

Additionally, Procure4 was also asked to provide insight into how the procurement function could be developed within the business.

The Approach

Procure4 engaged with key stakeholders across the business with an initial launch meeting and then follow up sessions to focus on specific functional spend and to develop tailored procurement strategies.

This, together with the review of spends data and contracts highlighted key priority areas of HVAC, Lighting and Print that were targeted; this was done through the use of traditional tendering and negotiation.

Current procurement processes were assessed in line with ‘best practice’ to identify areas for standardisation and improvement.

The Results

Procure4 delivered an average of 13% cost base reduction on the categories completed by agreeing new contracts to be applied across the business.

A robust procurement process was introduced that included developing and implementing a standardised documentation ‘tool kit’ to be used for the purchase of goods and services across the business.
