BACKGROUND
Our client is a leading private equity group headquartered in London, with offices across the USA, Europe, and Asia. With over €65bn in assets and 300,000 employees worldwide, the group invests in the consumer, industrial, services, and technology sectors.
the challenge
As part of its pre-acquisition due diligence, the client needed a rapid three-week review of a consumer product manufacturer’s supply chain. Despite strong growth in the US and Europe, limited visibility of the target’s operations meant there were unanswered questions about supplier relationships, capacity, and overall risk exposure. The client required both an “As-Is” assessment to map the current state and a “To-Be” view to outline the optimal future operating model.
SOLUTION
- Analyzed supplier, stock, product mix, and capacity data to build an objective “As-Is” view
- Held workshops with the target’s supply chain team to capture nuances and assess capability
- Identified risks and capability gaps in the current supply chain model
- Developed “To-Be” recommendations, including supplier base management, formalized relationships, onshoring distribution, S&OP, and cost-saving opportunities
