Capability and contract improvements across non-resale spend
BACKGROUND
A UK multichannel retailer with roughly 180-190 stores in the UK & US, strong online presence and circa £150m turnover, engaged Procure4 to review its procurement for goods not for resale categories.
the challenge
As the retailer expanded, its procurement and supply chain structures needed to keep pace. Goods not for resale categories such as HVAC, lighting, and print lacked standardization, with contracts and practices varying across sites. At the same time, procurement capability needed strengthening to ensure spend was well managed and future growth was supported.
SOLUTION
Procure4 worked with company stakeholders to diagnose spend, contracts, and processes, then targeted high-priority categories and introduced standard practices.
- Engaged stakeholders and analyzed spend data and existing contracts
- Tendered and negotiated in priority categories (HVAC, lighting, print)
- Benchmarked processes vs best practice for standardization
- Developed a documentation toolkit to unify procurement across the business
